 Fall bulbs 2021

20 Nov: received bulbs from Brent and Becky: Planted near heron 12/15

Red Aria – this lovely flower is registered as having orange petals and a red cup (2 O-R); its petals are ‘coppery’ and the cup is fiery red – no matter how you verbalize the colors, it is an eye-catcher; one of the later blooming red-cupped daffodils; a Grant Mitch hybrid; mid-late spring; 18″-24″.

N. Zaragoza 

– large, showy, upfacing flowers; strong, bright coloration of yellow and orange with lots of substance and long stems; 18″-22″; mid spring.  


N. Congress - ongress – a showy garden flower that was introduced in 1965; vibrant orange cup with golden yellow petals; Classic; 14″-18″; mid-late spring.

Tulips: in pots 16 Dec (May 2022: none bloomed--give up on tulips in pots!)
Caribbean Parrot 

Caribbean Parrot – looks like a luscious flower that is grown in the tropics; very variable and its color changes intensity as it matures; amazing substance and strong stemmed, this is a real winner; 14″-18″; mid-late spring; 11/+ cm.
Avignon Parrot 

Avignon Parrot – rich blend of warm, happy orange tones draw much attention; strong stems; amazing in arrangements; 16″-20″; mid- late spring.
Flaming Parrot 

Flaming Parrot – primrose yellow to creamy white with blood red flames inside, often maturing to creamy white with crimson flames outside; strong stems and a flower arranger’s dream; 20″-24″; mid-late spring.
Parrot Negrita 

Parrot Negrita – a popular triumph tulip now in parrot form; deep reddish-purple with green brush marks on thick wavy petals, opens slightly earlier than other parrot varieties; 18″-20″; mid- late spring.
